Dialogue between European Commissioner Thierry Breton and the European Clusters Alliance

29 June 2020

How cluster can contribute to Recovery Plan for Europe?

On 30 June 2020, 15:00 – 16:00, the European Clusters Alliance will enter a dialogue with European Commissioner Thierry Breton about the role clusters can play in the European economic recovery and beyond. You are invited to follow the event online.

The lockdowns to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and the standstill of production have caused disruptions in our industrial value chains and led to shortages in materials and products all over Europe. Since the beginning of the crisis, clusters have been at the forefront to find innovative solutions to the immediate needs. They have shared knowledge across sectors and borders, linked companies, and build a bridge between the businesses and the administrative authorities.

Now it is time to rebuild the European economy.

On 27 May 2020, the European Commission announced a major recovery plan for Europe “Communication COM(2020) 456: Europe’s moment: Repair and Prepare for the Next Generation” to help repair the economic and social damage brought by the coronavirus pandemic, kick-start European recovery, and protect and create jobs. To discuss the role clusters can play in this recovery, the European Clusters Alliance will hold a videoconference with European Commissioner Thierry Breton on 30 June 2020, 15:00-16:00 CEST.
